This Brass Abhisheka Vaarp / Vedhi (Plate) can be used for Abhisheka with large alcove for draining out the holy water. The plate is wide for placing saligrama or shivalinga or meru or any small statue. Beautifully designed, the oval shaped plate is well supported by a thick sturdy stand having three layers, which makes the plate stand stable while performing pooja.
An Abhisheka is a religious bathing ceremony of Deity with sacred Water, Milk, Buttermilk, Honey, Clarified Butter (ghee), Sugar and all kinds of fruit juices. During Abhishekam, the Deity is placed, prayed to, bathed with the abhisheka items, dressed, fed and praised.
The Deity idol which may be a Shivalingam or Shreeyantra of Shaligram or statue of God is placed in this tray and the fluids collected after abhishekam is used to sprinkle around the house to symbolise the blessings of the deity and also consumed as prasad. Place a vessel for collecting the liquid placed below the outlet of liquid on this tray.
