Sri Devi Mahatmyam is given in Malayalam script, describes the lilas of Sri Devi in detail. The slokas forms part of the Centre of Markandeya Purana. The entire collection of slokas describes the steps Sri Devi Matha has taken to protect the universe from the evil forces. This is an upa-purana broadly classified into three, Pradhama saritam, Maddhima saritam and Utthama saritham, with anubandam giving away slokas, worshipping methods. The poorva bhaga gives the methods of cleansing oneself before commencement of the parayanam. Usually recited during Navaratri days, reciting the verses one gets liberated to moves to the path of eternal bliss.
